(Spanish - Born : 7 April, 1952) Stared to be noticed during the mid-1980's. Mainly concentrated his efforts on the local Spanish championship before aggressively expanding his activities to the international arena. Posted great results, for instance outright wins on the 1986 Tunisia Rally and the 1987 PharaohÕs Rally. He improved his already good reputation as a driver by taking a diesel engine vehicle to a class victory on the 1988 Paris-Dakar. He continued to compete and do well in diesel engine vehicles and took a class victory on the Baja Portugal of the same year. To date he has amassed a total of 17 wins in this class. Since the mid 80's he has continued to compete actively in cross-country rallies in Tunisia, Portugal, Spain, etc. In the Paris-Dakar of 1996 he took a T1 (Production Car) class Mitsubishi Pajero to second place in the category and then went one better and won the class in the following year's event in 1997. His second place outright in the 1999 Granada-Dakar has only strengthened his already considerable resume and in the coming event he will be one to watch.
