The Mitsubishi, Ferrari and Yamaha Marlboro World Championship Teams gave tens of thousands of spectators at the Zandvoort circuit a thrilling and spectacular insight into their respective sports on the Saturday and Sunday (4/5 August) of the Marlboro Masters.

Both Tommi Makinen and Freddy Loix thrilled the crowds in their Mitsubishi Carisma GT/ Lancer Evolution, flinging their World Championship challenger sideways around the circuit and doing impressive sequences of rubber-burning ’donuts’.

World Championship 500cc Yamaha rider Carlos Checa also joined Loix in the Mitsubishi Carisma GT. The biker, who had never been out in a rally car, was suitably impressed by Freddy’s inch-perfect performance around the circuit, however Checa was forced to ask the Belgian to stop after a run of donuts left him dizzy!
